but it has worked for the last 50 years. The GOP yells somethign extreme, the media picks it up as a valid option, Dems give in a little bit and slide to the right. GOP then gets more extreme, media gives it cover, Dems cave. After 50 years, the behavior is now engrained.
not saying the whole ecosystem hasn't enabled this to a sickening degree, but stopping is also a choice.
