Don't take this to serious, but if you had let Harald Hardråde ( Harold Harada) win at Stamford Bridge, you might have had our Scandinavian right to roam today ... When and how did you loose this old germanian right? (You do find it, at last partly, in Germany too.)

This is probably true... There's also inconsistencies within the UK though - in Scotland there are much greater rights to public access, and Dartmoor is currently the only place in England where there it's allowed to wild camp.
