Not thrilled that the LDs could become a party of the rich - no party should be - but Ed Davey has really been excellent on strategy hasn’t he? Hope that even though FPTP is working for them now they stick to the PR guns.

I don’t think they’re the part of the rich but they gain huge support from graduates and are therefore middle class. Right now that is. They had big support in working class areas in the North pre-coalition.

I'm with Mark they appeal to the middle class, especially those who din't like voting labour. Traditionally liberals saw themselves as appealing to everyone, rich and poor.
