My first application, I did on my own. They rejected it by saying they couldn’t pull records from the psych ward I had stayed in previously, which had closed since then. So now, even with info for every specialist/doc I’ve seen, I’m still afraid records will just "disappear."
They're lying. I was approved on records from doctors that were no longer practicing because my dx took so long. The people on the phone are practically ai tier wrt accuracy and anything remotely complicated seems to short circut them. Claimed i sent them nothing useable until the judge stage.
Oof, that is *very* unfortunate. It's been a long time -- since 2009 -- but I was awarded SSDI on my first try. (I did tag in a disability law firm preemptively. Whether that helped or not, I dunno. They got a few k out of me for no work, but hey.)
