First for Britain! When Kevan Brett asked the local WhatsApp group for help IDing a moth he caught at Ormesby (Norfolk, VC27) on Sunday night I suggested Phycitodes lacteella. I'm glad I stuck my neck out - I've now examined the moth and the genitalia confirm my suspicion. #TeamMoth#MigrantMothUK
Tempted down to Spurn by the Arctic Warbler and to see old friends, and it was showing amazingly well at times. Through bins it was a delight, through the camera lens it was usually frustrating for me, with twigs or leaves covering bits at all times, but others fared better @spurnbirdobs.bsky.social
Absolute bucket list birding moment achieved with excellent views of Red-Billed Tropicbird taken recently on Fuertventura. This is a recent coloniser to the island and breeds in very small numbers. Very fortunate to have seen a minimum of 5 birds during my visit!
If you ever get the chance to visit the south of Spain the Little Swift colony at Chipiona is a must. With over 100 nests recorded in 2022 it is the most important Little Swift colony in all of Europe, and its fantastic!
