YMMV, I don't remember learning to read because I learned so young that my memories don't go back that far. I had better reading skills than most my age because I genuinely enjoyed reading and writing. My math skills, on the other hand, were woefully deficient. Don't unschool your kids, folks.

Yeah, I grew up "unschooled" and tbh I'm not convinced it should be legal either. I'm just glad my mom isn't religious and didn't go full blown tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist until after I'd reached adulthood. It's scary to think how easily she could have isolated and indoctrinated us.
