Brill announces it's going to start selling off publications to AI generators (while also developing its own "AI technologies" [?????]), but at least is going to offer authors an out (I am not moved by the "limits" this will place on their AI "technologies" to make my work more "available")

If you agree we can include your work, please sign the addendum. If you decide not to sign, your work will not be included – but please keep in mind that this will also limit our ability to use your work when developing our own AI technologies and to allow existing partners to use it to develop AI to make your work more widely discoverable for readers and researchers via libraries, academic databases, and other search technologies.

Fresco depicting the sacrifice or binding of Isaac from the Cubiculum of the Velatio in the Catacomb of Priscilla. Evoking a typology of Christ, the image shows Abraham directs Isaac, who is carrying the wood of the sacrifice, to a flaming altar. (Joseph Wilpert watercolor)

Fresco showing an old man at center pointing towards a flaming altar on the left. On the right a young man carries a bound bunch of wood on his back.
