One of my favorite weird cat guys: Le Chat d'Ostende. George Catlin, 1868. www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-1...

Oil painting of a weird, shaggy, almost werewolf-like brown cat with a somewhat humanoid face. He’s sitting on a table with a red tablecloth, and a sewing kit sits spilled open beside him. A needle and thread fly through the air in front of him and his right paw is held up oddly as if he threw it. His expression is cold and remorseless.

It looks like he's throwing tiny bottles in a riot

The artist's name is George Catlin. I think this may be a self-portrait.

I've been trying to learn how to draw, and specifically how to draw cats and I swear I've drawn this exact picture on accident while trying to figure out how to make a cat face appear on my paper using my pencil. I know what a cat face looks like, I know how lines work, and yet.
