I've been on bluesky for a year and a half, and I had been on twitter since 2008 before I quit last November. So speaking as someone who is pretty experienced with both I am much happier here. The moderation tools and general vibe here tend to discourage gratuitous drama and trolling.

It's actually so amazing to see a platform without 300 bots or blue checks trying to get that twitter money in the replies

Blue sky is so calm been here for a year and barely got any bots randomly following or senseless arguments over nothing and everyone trying to act smart.

I feel a lot of the people migrating here don't want to deal with drama. Finding a new social media platform with no real culture to it yet, seems to allow a chance to create a much more positive space.

The people I've encountered here so far generally seem to crave a chill, sincere experience vs. twitter which was just exhausting, constant hyper-vigilance because so many people there are into recreational hostility, bad faith nonsense, and "discourse".

Theres so many freaking bots on twitter too that just copy paste other ppls tweets to get interaction so they didnt waste their blue checkmarks

I just joined a day or two ago and the lack of rage bait, bot comments, racism, propaganda, conspiracy theories, onlyfans bots, pointless drama, and piece of shit celebrities frankly feels like a miracle. It’s like eating mud for 6 years and suddenly switching to a gourmet dish

Threads is a dumpster fire of rage. Bait posts everywhere. No discourse. Just shouting. Hopefully this is better.

Compare contrast ‘08 twitter and ‘24 BlueSky. Pretty similar yes ? I think so.
