I finally learned to do Celsius to Fahrenheit conversions in my head. The trick was to ignore the formula usually taught (F=9/5*C + 32). Instead: Double the Celsius temp, subtract 10% and add 32. for 50c: Double 50 and get 100. Subtract 10 and add 32. Or even easier, think 100 + (32-10) = 122.

Thanks god we are not using Fahrenheit or any other metrics USA using.

Impressive! For extra credit, which temperature is the same number in both systems?

Or just completely ignore that abomination of a temp measurement

I use the y = mx + c form which is F = 1.8C + 32 or C = (F -32) / 1.8, it's more difficult but I've gotten used to it

Okay, now convert that into bullets per square child so every American can understand it.

Works. Even -40C, gets it right -40F

I'll stick to the thermometer

Something like 60C is even easier, because 90% of 120 is 12, which is easy to subtract from 32. So I just have to think 120 + 20 =140 because the (32-12) is automatic in my mind. And then it's easy to figure out which F temp is exactly double the C temp, because 32 is 10% of 320, so 160*2+(32-32)
