After the PWHL bug bit me last winter I did find it was worth it to just go see D1 games in person where tickets were cheap and plentiful, but I'm within easy biking or busing range of two WCHA teams so that is almost certainly easier for some than for others.

There was at least an announcement a few weeks ago that the names and etc got pushed back which I thought was nice if disappointing. I REALLY dislike "Superior" but since I'm more bothered by... <gestures broadly>, I'm probably going to be an Ottawa fan this season anyway.

I think the more likely sign of all things being FUBAR is their total absence from the Fair.

There is a reasonable reason for that one: new merch with new logos in about a month so time to clean out the warehouse.

I've been able to solve the malware problem mostly by putting in enterprise grade firewalls that, again mostly, keep people from running across the bad stuff accidentally. Not a simple or cheap solution to maintain, though Firewalla is simpler and cheaper than most.

I would quibble with that assessment of Amazon and move the line more towards two years after Bezos started the company... Maybe earlier?

When I dumped Win11 this past spring I went with Zorin for precisely this reason. I had trouble with both Mint and Pop getting the drivers right. I'm ok with proprietary drivers and Zorin installed the right drivers for my 4080 the first time. All the Steam games I've tried run GREAT.

You must have missed "Minnesota Superior", which I thought was clearly the worst of them. Though with the recent revelations about how some parts of the team operate maybe they thought it was a request for a particular attitude.
