In the last few days, we have been based in Veroia, with its rich history. We visited the wonderful sites of Dion and Aigai (Vergina). It was interesting to see the palace, now open to visitors. We needed some shade after that! @nicholsone99.bsky.social#AntigonidNetwork#AncientMacedonia

It is a great pleasure to be back in Greece with @nicholsone99.bsky.social#AntigonidNetwork. We started with a fruitful meeting at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, located the street and square of the Antigonids (a roundabout really), and visited the amazing Agios Athanasios tomb.

Statue of Alexander the Great on horseback, on top of a large base, by the seaside.
Street sign for Antigonidon Street, in the city of Thessaloniki, explaining that it is named after 'a dynasty of descendants of Antigonus'.
View down a metal staircase leading to the façade of an ancient Macedonian tomb.
Painted façade of an ancient Macedonian tomb.
