Its been awhile. Popping back in as the bad place seems badder.

More than half of reporting wastewater Utilities are now categoried as showing "steady decrease" (28 of 55 reporting utilities)! It appears this winter's surge may be much briefer than the last one winter (which began in October and lingered through March)

The median of all reporting utilities remains relatively low, but climbed from the start lows seen last week. The median is back at the levels of early fall. Nice to see last week's pause mostly holding as we remain well below the "surge levels" of November and December. /2

With this update, many more utilities move into "decreasing" territory. Though several are still categorized as displaying a "Steady Increase". All in all, good news. :)

The median of all reporting utilities dove off a cliff with many REALLY low reports in the last few days. The median dipped to levels not seen since August. It looks like our winter surge has taken a definitive pause. Though, there's a small uptick in the last few days. /2

Meanwhile, the wastewater map looks a little different today: Gone are the deep reds for "steady increases", bring on the baby-poo browns & yellows!

Keep in mind these samples are all collected before kids returned to school this week, meaning things could change. But the recent reports from many utilities show a trend moving away from "steady increase" (down to 26 from 39), though most remain increasing.

The median of all reporting utilities is dipping slightly, with a few low reports in the last couple days. The median remains above the level for the entire fall, and still very much looks like it is in "surge" territory. But it looks possible that our surge may be receding.
