9 juillet 1960 : Roger Woodward, sept ans, est devenu la première personne connue à avoir survécu en traversant les chutes du Niagara sans baril.

Un jeune garçon boit avec une paille dans un hôpital. Roger Woodward était sur un bateau sur la rivière Niagara avec l'ami de la famille James Honeycutt et sa sœur Deanne. Lorsque le moteur s'éteint, Honeycutt a demandé à Roger et Deanne de mettre des gilets de sauvetage. Après le retournement du bateau, Deanne a été secourue par deux hommes sur le rivage. Roger et James ont traversé les chutes du Niagara. Honeycutt s'est noyé, mais le gilet de sauvetage a sauvé la vie de Roger. La Pucelle de la Brume l'a récupéré de l'eau.
