Blackhat (2015, Michael Mann, Theatrical Cut) Michael Mann is for the romantics, the professionals, and those who have difficulty compartmentalizing the two. In a digital world ruled by ones & zeros, the only tangible thing left is a love that makes you want to escape a cold world together.
Yeah i’ve done that. I’m mostly there still on twitter since it’s still pretty active there and Bluesky is mostly a backup for now.
Demi Moore & Margaret Qualley are both incredible in depicting self-hatred that comes from impossible beauty standards. Dennis Quaid is straight-up hilariously demonic in fish-eye close ups.
The Substance (2024, Coralie Fargeat) Not quite sure what to make of it. Maximalist body horror. Goopy & bloody effects that make me wince. The satirical framing leans towards mean-spiritedness, rather than sincerity. Eventually, it turns into campy self-parody.
Well the reason why is a lot of people I connect with are still on it and don’t really use bluesky.
Umm why am I staying on twitter? Or why things might go south?
If things go real south on Twitter, I’ll be here. I’ll try to go down with the ship though.
