The power of the people in Central Indiana DSA was able to get Jesse Brown elected. Often during canvassing the feedback we got was “the city isn’t fighting for us” at a time of city leadership absence Central Indiana DSA showed leadership.
On Indy Council, why is city council leadership trying to kick @jesseforindy.bsky.social out of the caucus, the only person on Indy council actually willing to fight for everyday people? Indy Council needs to ask themselves; do they actually care about democrats winning? Jesse cares!
If Hogsett isn’t going to fight, we’ll make him fight. If he won’t make his political rival’s lives miserable, activists will make his life miserable. Every pedestrian death on Washington street is not just on the IN GOP’s hands, but on Mayor Hogsett and the council’s hands.
At a time when republican governors, including Eric Holcomb, are threatening a violent standoff with the military so they can torture migrants at the border, the Indy democrats can’t even be bothered to make Indy’s oppressor republicans’ lives mildly uncomfortable in Indy
Mayor Joe Hogsett has been complicit, “I’ll tell you the truth, I hide” he said to the media, like a frightened elephant that sees a mouse smaller than him. Why won’t Hogsett realize who should be scared of who? Why won’t Hogsett fight? How much more bullying will he accept?
The Indy metro remains the largest economic hub and only rapidly growing part of the state. The more sensible republicans know this and have held off attacking Indy. But in the end republicans don’t care about reality, so SB 52 is out of committee and likely to become law

During this time the chapter has increased its presence and size, recruiting over 100 new members, supporting strikes, expanded efforts in support of the LBGTQIA+ community, and worked in coalition with groups like MAD Voters and ACT Indiana on issues essential to CINDSA
Over the past year, electorally engaged CINDSA members have made over 8,000 phone calls, sent over 18,000 texts, and regularly turned out dozens of volunteers for canvassing events in support of chapter endorsed candidates.
