Is there a way to be more efficient with transcribing interviews? Asking for a really tired PhD student 😅 I really need to do them myself, cannot upload anywhere #SciSky #AcademicSky #PhDSky #sociology
Having good software that aids transcription is key. Not auto-transcription like Otter but software like Otranscribe.com is great - it's free, allows you to control start/stop, speed, going back/forward so much more easily. InqScribe is also good (& can use with a foot pedal) & has a free version.
A free HTML5 app to take the pain out of transcribing interviews. Useful for journalists, academics and anyone else transcribing audio. And it's open source, too.
If you are using Microsoft Word, you may be able use the internal transcription feature. If not, I find it useful to actually speed up my the audio transcripts and pause more often, than to slow them down. You may find that you get more efficient over time. I know its painful but you got this!
Can you use a software like Otter?
