The results from the world’s largest Universal Basic Income study are now in. Findings: “A monthly UBI empowered recipients and did not create idleness. They invested, became more entrepreneurial, and earned more. The common concern of “laziness” never materialized.”

Money always helps, but for the poorest, one large lump sum can last a long time. A long-term universal basic income also looks promising.

Even if there are a few lazy ones in the bunch, they're going to spend their money with those "more entrepreneurial" folks. "Customers are the ONLY job creators"

The meme of the virtue of toil has been one of the biggest tools for social control. (says he on his account for geeky stuff)

And this is exactly why UBI meets so much opposition. The rich can’t allow anyone to think they might possibly rise above their current situation.

Laziness wasn't really a "concern"; it was an excuse.

Now THERE’S a surprise.

Trickle-up economics is much realer than trickle-down.

fun fact, even if it caused idle behavior, those people would still be spending money on their necessities, which would empower their economy with more cash flow, so even if a UBI did make some people more lazy, the fact that they would have more money to spend would be a net positive to the economy

I really really wish the entire world would implement this. They've already done studies on it here (Canada) and got the same results.

Of course it didnt. Its a myth started by the wealthy based on the myth of poor people just not working enough. The average human needs a occupation of some sort. Wih basic needs covered they will find Something to keep occupied. Only billionairs are truly lazy parasites.
