Disgraced Conservative MP William Wragg has voluntarily given up the party whip. Hence:

The Conservatives are really desperate to shut this one down. Questions still remain regarding the timescale, who was involved and who is behind it. What is really puzzling is why the Party were so magnanimous about it and why was he not seeking re-election before all this became public?
