Peer Sayeeda Warsi has resigned the Conservative whip. She says: “My decision is a reflection of how far right my Party has moved and the hypocrisy and double standards in its treatment of different communities.”

I'm amazed it's taken this long although I've heard her speak about why she stayed and I kind of understand.

She started her rehabilitation then? I recall she voted in favour of the Bedroom Tax. A Tory policy that further impoverished hundreds of thousands of already impoverished people. I have yet to hear of Labour repealing it.

What changed in the last year, that she would make this decision now rather than then?

I honestly thought she’d have done this ages ago. I have so much respect for her. She tried.

Feels like Reform and the Lib Dems could end up fighting over the Tory corpse

She doesn’t want to wear the uniform and jackboots or goose step into history.

The only surprise here is she didn't do this sooner.

She'll clearly not be joining the Labour Party then! 😳😳
