This seems odd to me. I would have thought you motive your voters by messaging that your behind in the polls or very close. Doesn’t a poll lead generate complacency more than action?
Maybe worth noting that Rosenberg is pretty open about having a similar goal: to calibrate the mood of Democrats, to optimize the chances of electoral success. So all his arguments will be in service of that agenda. (To be clear, I'm not saying he is dishonest, which is a key difference.)
