If you frequently find yourself shunned for your views, one possibility is that you're a heterdox thinker so far ahead of your time that few are ready to hear your powerful and original insights. The other, possibly more likely possibility, is that you're an asshole. Something to consider!

Bluesky's features currently solve for a few specific facets of some known social media ills. This place is far from perfect, though. There's been a consistent pattern of Black people being made to feel unwelcome. Other issues too. Tech doesn't solve all that.

I went through a bit of a contrarian phase in my 20s. It was more "well what about this?" than really "heterodoxy." Luckily I had people in my life that told me I was being annoying.
