The criminal justice system is broken and terrible and needs steep reform but total prison abolition is a stupid pipedream for idiots who seem to have forgotten that rapists and murderers exist. It's just a fact there are people too violent and destructive to live in society.

Totally abolishing prison would only end up with a lot of vigilante justice, and angry mobs of armed murderers are going to hit a lot more wrong targets than even our current system where you at least get years of trials and appeals and juries and educated representation.
