Maybe Idk industrial societies have lower birth rates because healthcare improves and we move away from a farmstyle society thus women don't have to have 20 kids just for 10 to survive so they can help in the farm. Oh and also teenagers become educated and accidental pregnancies rates fall! 😐

By basic standards I would mean something like "do not be a sensational piece of paper, don't be infowars"

I don't think it's going to be state affiliated media. It would just receive funding. What I am thinking of is those local newspapers that are dying but they are a very necessary source of information and make a healthy democracy. The funds would be no strings attached other than basic standards

We should just convince Pritzker and the Soros to throw their money at creating left of center media. And then nationally convince Dems to pass legislation funding local newspapers!
