I learned about this comet while it had a temporary designation and imaged it hours after its discovery and again the next morning.
Will we see a second naked-eye comet this month? This is C/2024 S1 (ATLAS), discovered by the ATLAS survey a few days ago. It will reach perihelion on October 28th, only a couple weeks after C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) reaches peak brightness and moves into the evening sky. #Astrophotography
