Corner of a large floor mosaic with a medallion in which is depicted a portrait bust of the female personification of Spring. She’s wearing a white tunic with a deep purple clavi (vertical stripe) and a reddish-purple mantle. Her hair is braided and pulled up into a topknot, as is often seen in Byzantine era art. She’s sporting simple gold hoop earrings. Surrounding this medallion are both a large laurel topiary and acanthus volutes. The border of the mosaic is an undulating yellow ribbon with stylized lotus buds filling each negative space.
