Polychrome terracotta head of Leucothea, the "white goddess" of the sea (Etruscan Thesan). Part of the high relief which covered the front end of the ridge beam of the roof of temple A in the sanctuary of Pyrgi, ancient port of Caere (Cerveteri). Etruscan, ca. 340-330 BCE, Villa Giulia, Rome 📸 me

Pale terracotta face of a woman turning her head to her left, her wavy hair whipping back in an unseen wind, her lips slightly parted. Visible traces of her original pigments can be seen on her pink eyelids, her dark irises, and the reddish-pink of her hair.

National Etruscan Museum, Villa Giulia, Rome (inv. 53889)

Do we know what the color scheme was in it’s entirety, or just fragmentary?
