i'm 19 so i think i'm qualified here we mostly say speaker if it's out loud, else headphones for anything that goes in/over ur ears

What about the music-playing unit installed in a car's dashboard? I can't think of any term for it besides "car stereo" but would young people refer to is as a "car speaker?" The head unit in the dash that contains the controls but no speakers wouldn't be called a speaker, would it?
