Turkey, a NATO member, about to get drawn into this conflict as well as Iran. Then what? Then what? A complete and utter failure of American and Western diplomacy and foreign policy stretching back decades. A nightmare.
Obviously I do not mean that Iran has been drawn into this conflict; the regime has been at war with Israel effectively since 1979. But that is precisely my fear: that Tehran has been laying this trap ruthlessly and artfully for years, and we are just about to spring it.
