Just out of curiosity, if folks are getting newsletters from Substack as well as other platforms... ...are the Substacks making it into your inbox at a higher rate than other newsletters? (i.e., is Gmail whitelisting Substacks but not newsletters via Buttondown/Ghost/Beehiiv?)

Some newsletters (including yours) go to Promotions, some to Updates; for some reason, my own goes to Social. I am at the point of simply rolling my eyes at Google. (I'm not subscribed to any Substacks because fuck them.)

Yours comes straight to my inbox! (And thank goodness for that!)

A few Substacks I subscribe to sometimes go into Promotions (including at least one that I regularly read immediately) so I don't think they're immune to it.

Not had any problems with either.

all my newsletters tend to go to my promotions folder, which actually makes them less likely to be banished to my low-priority to-read folder. if it's in my inbox and not urgent, it is unlikely to ever be read. at least i sometimes peek into my promotions folder.

I've never had a problem getting yours, it always shows up for me!

That's hard to parse as I don't always pay attention to which service the people I follow and get newsletter from use. That said, I believe I always get yours :)

I've received Substack, BeeHiiv, and ButtonDown emails without issue on my Gmail.
