Presumably banning contraception is next on her list, to get back to these golden days when women were having more babies despite no maternity pay. We could stop giving kids vaccines too, as higher infant mortality is correlated with higher fertility…

I had forgotten the joy of being out and about in autumn with a toddler who not only despises the rain, but LOATHES any kind of clothing or device intended to protect him from it

Hah I have been the recipient of one of those, from someone who worked for me! It wasn’t terrible as it brought a festering problem to a head, but at the same time pretty awkward for all concerned.

Had the slightly uncanny experience this morning when reading @youngvulgarian.bsky.social ‘s newsletter of having my own life described to me much more articulately than I have ever managed it. A good read for anyone else who spent their 20s “sandblasting my own brain”

I find lots to reply to here but less to announce, if you know what I mean. Quite happy that way tbh as I’m just here for interest / fun rather than trying to build a following

We had to wait 5 years to have #2 due to childcare / housing costs. Given I was 40 by then we could have easily ended up not being able to. I do think sorting childcare / housing costs would help at least at the margins - and also just improve people’s lives in the meantime…
