They only thought Cyberpunk was real when they got their hands on it. Mostly because of going after Blankenship & his persona hacker BBS, that they extrapolated to the job computers because Agent Foley was nearly computer illiterate & let the Bell guy do all the research. And that's not to mention the idiocies that occurred when Good Christians were seeing Satan around every corner and in the basements of daycare centers that (you guessed it!) didn't have basements.
