(Thread) I will have to remember to avoid the music shop in Hastings and only buy instruments in Brighton; I bought a good soprano ukulele from Hobgoblin Music in Brighton about two years ago and the bloke there was very kind and helpful, answering my questions with seemingly effortless patience. 1/
And it turned out that the baritone uke is tuned completely differently from its soprano and tenor cousin: in fact, the strings are the same as the thin strings on a conventional guitar. I asked for assistance from another, older shop assistant who had suddenly emerged from behind the counter. 3/
Earlier this afternoon, I was curious as to what the tenor and baritone ukuleles would sound like and got into the local shop to try them. The person who handed them over to me however didn’t tune them. I have a tuner on my phone but was unable to get a signal inside the shop. 2/
It makes me wonder why some people choose jobs where they have to interact with the public.
