Though personally, I don't always see the changes, and especially not growth, when I do these types of memes. Gets frustrating sometimes as a result.
A lot of us feel this way, starting in early years with peer pressure and a academic or athletic or artistic success in school. I don't call off much either, but for me a lot of my self-worth is tied up in how productive I am, which I feel is fostered by societal systemic peer pressures :/
1) You already feel bad because of being sick, your body and mind are predisposed to feeling bad 2) internalized cultural emphasis on being productive to justify our existence - if we can't work, it "reflects poorly on us" (and fear of shitty bosses firing us) Glad to know I'm not the only one.
