Ah I see. For Culture Conference (wordpress again) we pay 16 quid/year for hosting and domain registration, but no idea how that compares to other options.

I use wordpress - it's fine! I also used Google Sites once for a workshop website, it too was fine! If all you need is the basic "Here's me and here's how to reach me" stuff then I think either would do.
