When deciphering the Republican agenda, it’s pretty clear they want a society composed of disposable workers who don’t interfere with wealth accumulation and who die off quickly and efficiently. Hence the opposition to ANY social services and ANY worker’s rights.

The thing is, if they pursue mass deportation, they'll lose their primary labor pool. On the other hand, if they arrest them and then use them for slave labor, it'll drive down wages so much that even their tacit supporters will start to complain. They can't win, but they don't care.
