In my weekly piece for The Dissenter, I look at the horrible human toll of Israel's war on Gaza and how Washington remains dominated by war mongers. thedissenter.org/as-israels-v...
Palestinians are dying in a war funded by the U.S. government. Anyone who questions the human toll of this war is perversely demonized as a "terrorist" supporter.
Caught a second of CNN as I was leaving the gym today. The headline was "Russia TV Makes Fun of US, Israel." Death and destruction being rained down on Gaza and that's the headline?
There's always been an attempt to suppress speech critical of Israel and supportive of Palestine, but there's been a relative thawing in recent years. The coordinated, bipartisan attacks from politicians and the media on pro-Palestinian protests is a real disturbing backslide.
The difference between Al Jazeera English and CNN is so incredibly stark right now.
I was going to work on my Dissenter column, go for a walk, but I am just staring at these horrible images coming out of Gaza (Al Jazeera, I can't stand to turn on the propaganda on US media). I am just stunned and horrified. And as an American, I know my tax money is paying for this slaughter.
Listening to Al Jazeera in the background, the host is commenting on how the only light that appears to be visible in Gaza is fires from the bombing. People profiting from this are ghouls.
I went to protests against the 2009, 2012, and 2014 murderous assaults on Gaza, against the blockade, and the murderous raid of the Mavi Marmara. Israel is again preparing a mass slaughter of the people of Gaza, maybe its worst yet. This can't keep happening.
I remember going to a protest for what I think was the three year-anniversary of the blockade of Gaza. At the time, it seemed shocking that the siege had gone on for so long. It felt like this inhumane policy couldn't continue. Gaza has now been under siege for 17 years.
I am not sure arguing with Chadwick is a fruitful task.
WikiLeaks supporters have experienced break-ins, "atypical robberies," and surveillance. While we don't know (yet) who was behind it all, it's impossible not to suspect the involvement of one or more of the US intelligence agencies. thedissenter.org/in-hunting-w...
When it comes to their war on WikiLeaks, there is strong reason to believe that the three-letter agencies didnāt stop at its founder. The question is: how far beyond Assange did they go?
