Bike routes SHOULD be physically separated from cars, but, if all you're offering cyclists is a "shared" street, it should be MODAL FILTERED (bollards to allow bikes & block cars [see red marks]) at EVERY BLOCK. There should be ZERO through-traffic on "bike route" streets! Example from #BikeYVR...
