Wait, doing that makes me old? (I mean, I understand that its not the ONLY thing that makes me old, but still...)

It’s a horrible construction and I’ve always assumed that there’s presumably been some more modern way to write it (using whatever a decorator is?) or somesuch. But maybe there isn’t! I don’t learn new things anymore!
