A reminder: Alt text for a screenshot of the text of a statement/press release/pull quote/etc. Should actually include THE TEXT of the thing! Saying it's "[person's] statement" doesn't help at all, if you don't also tell us WHAT IT SAYS! 🤦

Question 'cause I've run into this. If the text is more than fits in the alt-text box, I assume summarizing slightly is preferred to something like "..." or "continues?"

I want to pile on more complaints about what you described in your post, but you pretty much nailed it. I'll just add that I love alt text despite not needing it, because I love the lovely and funny context it adds in addition to accessibility. It's like footnotes in a book.
