Thank you for the portrait 😊 I very much enjoyed our chat at the conference.
4/ Thank you so much, Matteo, Alejandra, and all coauthors, for all your efforts ❤️
3/ Our findings suggest that horizontal cells align the spatial structure of receptive fields in postsynaptic neurons with the visual scene properties from ground to sky.
2/ These interneurons, horizontal cells, show regional specializations, with gradients and asymmetries in density, dendritic tree size, and functional coupling via electrical synapses across the retina.
1/ Our new preprint provides insights into the amazing complexity of retinal architecture, highlighting how distinct features of the first inhibitory interneuron of the 🐭 visual system are tailored to the visual environment. #warpedretinawww.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Customs agent asked about my job, and then jokingly asked if I was “bringing sciencey things back to the US.” I replied, “no, but if I did it would be eyeballs” and the look of shock on his face was priceless 😂
New paper from the lab just dropped on BioRxiv. In this study, we extend our understanding of the rewiring effects of early rod degeneration in the inner retina by further evaluating our Retinal Pathoconnectome 1 (RPC1) volume. The focus of this paper is on the Aii glycinergic amacrine cell.
