It breaks my heart feeling like far too many people have just been secretly, quietly harboring cruel thoughts towards each other, but now it’s just slowly becoming more socially acceptable to be a jerk
and yes, this can be intellectually explained to me. I can “get it” in that I can understand on that level. but my heart, my stubborn, bleeding heart, *can’t*
I grew up with both Japanese and U.S. culture, so I had my share of Disney and Ghibli, so to speak. I consumed plenty of content that made it very clear how being awful to our fellow human beings, to animals, to the planet, etc was for the bad guys so, how did we get here?
listen I know this is naive of me, but I still don’t understand how we grew up with so much media emphasizing kindness and compassion, emphasizing the value of human connection, and people STILL choose to be bigoted and hateful and I really don’t think I ever will
Oh my god that looks incredible 😭
hehehehehehehehe
Having low iron is a good excuse to go get yakiniku, right? Right, everyone?
The few things I miss from Twitter (aka the only things I go on to check anymore) - JR West updates. If I’m stuck boarding the JR, I need to know if the Osaka Loop Line has a delay (again) - Immediate and useful discussion about things like earthquakes, typhoons, etc - Cafe collab announcements!
(How utterly Victorian/gothic heroine of me to be THIS anemic. I require a seaside respite immediately.)
