The lender on my totaled car is Ally Financial. My insurance sent them what they need to payoff of the loan Sept 16. Ally acknowledged. Now their customer service reps say they have no record of any such communication & they expect my October payment.

I am reading Joseph Pearce’s 2008 book, The Quest for Shakespeare, as profoundly Catholic a work of scholarship as I’ve ever encountered, and found in it a delightful description of Dan Brown’s The Davinci Code as “inanely ubiquitous.”

Good morning, family. It’s 5:15 AM on Tuesday, 24th September, 2024. What good shall we do this day?

How did I miss the fact that Titan is putting out a new Elric comic? Is it a limited series or a new ongoing? Is it any good?

The cover of a comic titled Elric the Necromancer, featuring Moorcock's famous character with a bunch of dead guys on a storm tossed ship.
The cover of issue #2 of Elric the Necromancer. He's wearing some kind of...well, I don't know how exactly to describe his outfit. It's kind of like a bando. He's standing on top of a pile of human skeletons.

The Adair County Library has a (perfectly reasonable) policy of a 6-month waiting period on Interlibrary Loan requests from new patrons. I was granted a waiver because I use ILLs in my job. Or maybe because my 4-H Club planted the grass around the then-new building in 1980.

You know what’s hilarious? Hubris. Ahhhh ha ha ha! Pride goeth before the fall. For the first round, the announcer named ten Adair County roads. To score points, you had to provide their state road numbers (with direction indicators—N, S, E, W). Welcome home, smart guy.

Tonight is my debut as a member of my brother's honkytonk trivia team. Last night, my dad related concerns put forward by community members that me and Fred being on the same team isn't fair. Don't fret, folks, just ask questions about contemporary pop culture. We'll be helpless.
