The older I get the more I realise I DO want men to be strong. But not physically strong, rather, strong enough that if they hear something that upsets them, instead of shouting, or fighting, or sulking, they ask, “is there any way to do better?”

I feel denying men their anger is a misstep. It shouldn't be about shutting it off but validating the emotion then helping them direct it positively and constructively. People who've often had easy access to only one emotion are told it's bad and never learn more or better understandings of them.
