I'll be honest, I hate the way they made Naruto continue the line of absent fathers (regardless of reason) cuz I personally don't think it matches his whole family Idea, but maybe reading it a bit will give me some peace with it

I think a better framing than reading him as an absent father would be asking, "What is the consequence of treating the whole village like family?" I think that runs through the series.
