Never ever ever ever EVER eveeeeeerrrrrrr do this. Ever. Ever! Just buy books from (independent) bookstores. Bookstores are great. We love bookstores. And they’re home to booksellers who are basically book wizards. It’s pretty great.

Truth; there is no algorithm that will ‘get’ you like someone in a bookstore after 3 mins of conversation (especially indies, who legit seem to hire book wizards). I’m not an impulse buyer, but I 100% am at an indie bookstore

TBH, I've started doing the reverse of this: I get the free Kindle sample from Amazon, and then if I decide to get the book (which I do about 75% of the time), buy it elsewhere.

You can order online from your local bookstores too. Plus, the box at your door will be packaged with more care.

Sometimes I catch an Amazon review and then wander over to an indie's website and buy it there.

Imagine having the free time to drive to the bookstore, wait for your friends, do all this research, then go home to do all the same research a second time, and also pay extra because you have to order from multiple sellers
