I have a huge amount of sympathy for coordinating a group mainly of volunteers; getting any group of people to come to consensus is hard enough in most circumstances, and a flat structure that wide seems nightmarish to me. /2

But it also sounds like the pumped-up acrimony depressed an already "must not be too hasty" leadership process and made it a lot harder to get out the Con's official statement. My friends distaste was with how adversarial leadership was viewing potential con-goers/community-members. /3
