In transformers from a to z The transformers are one of many races of living machines in thd universe, possibly one of the oldest but no one really knows, unique among other robots they're believed to not have a creator race responsible for their creation, rather they seem to be naturally occuring, but the truth of that matter is a closely guarded secret, they come from the long dead planet cybertron, long ago it used to be able to grant life to anything on it's surface thanks to an artifact at it's core called the allspark. But the allspark was lost in the transformers' great war, now they live exclusively aboard shapeships and colony worlds. Cybertronians are powered by energon, a special type of sub atomic particle that converts energy into mass and vice versa, the solidified energy it creates is also called energon, there are 14 shapes that energon can take that form the diferent types of energon ore, which are used as fuel, currency, machine parts, and manufacturing,
Transformers have no completely consistent anatomy between individuals. They don't operate under the same logic as organics and are best taught of as a "brand" or a culture rather than a species, new transformers are born when any inert object is directly exposed to enough energon particles to equal it's own weight. After being exposed, the object will grow the necessary components of a tf and come to life The components of a transformer are categorized by function. Different bots achieve these functions differently. Usually, they inherit the terminology of their alternate mode to refer to their specific bodyparts like a car former having an engine for a heart or a fuel tank for a stomach, regardless of specific components their bodies always form certain major systems, a brain module, a t-cog with manipulator arms, energy absorbers at the tips of those arms and a spark chamber that fuels the body, transformers also belive the sparks inside spark chambers to be their souls
Most tfs appear humanoid, but they're not, and things designed with humanoids in mind don't really work for them. Instead, their technology is also built to transform and store away inside their bodies, separated in ascending size as phalangeal, meta carpal, and carpal tech. Super robots don't use guns The ability that gives the transformers their name, transforming, is not unique, various unrelated robots also have alternate modes but only some of them like the tfs use their ability to disguise themselves, for the tfs specifically their most natural alternate mode is the object they were made from, tfs can change alt modes by scanning a new object, afterward their bodies will use existing parts to take on the approximate shape of the new alt mode, over time their bodies will build new parts needed to become an outwardly perfect replica but usually they hasten the process by manually adding new parts using external machinery
Notably, transformers can't fly at all. Their robot mode components mess up the mechanics of flight used by their alt modes. But eventually, they develop technology to grant them this ability. Transformers can also become parts of other machines to increase their power, evolving and reconfiguring them with new parts, namely themselves. This ability is called powerlinxing. The most common type of powerlinx is a headmaster parthership, where a smaller transformer turns into a spare head for a bigger one, this allows them to act as safety nets for each other, as long as one is alive the other can't be permanently killed, other types of powerlinxing allow bots to become powerful weapons and energy sources The supernatural qualities of powerlinxing are only possible within a triangle of space created by cybertron's two moons and the planet dominus, called the dominus system, earth is at the border of the domimus system and pokes out of it during the 9th to 11th of November,
