In my own setting it’s the same but she was given a Wolf familiar as a guardian (was her father’s), a child of a Wolf God of the Wilds that watches over the living and helps guides spirits to the realm of death. The wolf is tied to air elements and is a rifter (opens portals to teleport)

I LOVE THIS SO MUCHHH and I love the connection with guiding spirits because the children of my wolf loa have a similar job <3
