was it 3 different Stereolab albums? i luckily heard something off Peng first (i think it was "Peng! 33" which is a total shoegaze-ish track and i was very much a MBV/slowdive kick at the time) i am not sure if heard the motorik-ish stuff then i woudl have liked it as much

yeah. i know that my general understanding of "camp" is pretty narrow and his voice was a bit to get used to. it was the FFS collab (and tour) that finally clicked for me. the performance was amazing and showed off the power of those songs.

exactly. i remember spending a few weeks trying to understand Sonic Youth when i first heard them because i knew there was something there and that i just needed to learn how to listen also it took me almost a decade to finally get The Sparks and now i'm a huge fan
